A Prayer of Faithfulness Based on Psalm 132

This is a prayer of faithfulness based on Psalm 132.

Psalm 132 was sung as the ark of the covenant was processed into the temple. The ark was carefully constructed to God's specifications. This psalm remembers the promises God made to David for his faithfulness.

God is faithful to us also.

This psalm is the responsorial psalm for the vigil Mass for the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Mary is the new ark of the covenant, who bore the Lord inside her very self.

A Prayer of Faithfulness Based on Psalm 132

We try to do your will Lord.
Please stay close to us.
That is all we want.
Your presence brings us joy.

You are always faithful.
You have blessed us in so many ways.

You have chosen us.
You have come to live with us.
You have blessed us with food and shelter.
You have shown us how to follow you.

You are our hope and salvation.
We praise you for your faithfulness.

Amen.
