A Prayer to God Who Is Above All - Based on Psalm 47

This is a prayer based on Psalm 47. This psalm praises God who is above all and who rules all.

This psalm is the responsorial psalm for Mass on the Feast of the Ascension of Our Lord.

All of the people of the world should praise you, my God,
and be joyful as you gaze on us.
For you rule the whole world with justice
and you are the king of our past and future.

You have risen above all in triumph.
Let all the nations praise you.

You are so far above us
and your holiness is beyond our comprehension.
All of the rulers of the world should bow to you
and do your will.

You are splendid above all
and we only want to serve you with humility.

Amen.
