Reflection
In today’s gospel, The disciples are being storm tossed in a boat and are terrified. But Jesus comes to them and calms the storm.
How often in life we attempt to manage the boat by ourselves in the storm. We struggle against the wind and try to steer the way we want to go. What we really need to do is to take courage and trust in the Lord.
Prayer
Lord, teach me to trust in you when I am storm tossed. Let me remember that you are near and you alone have the power to save me. Reach your hand out to me and keep me from the depths. Amen.
Word On Fire: Wind and Waves
From Bishop Robert Barron. Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus. Relying on our own power, we can do nothing. But relying on him, we can do anything.
USCCB Reflection: Is It You Lord?
When we are making a decision, we must be aware that there are three voices we can hear – God, the evil one, or our own subconscious.
