The readings for the Solemnity of Christ the King for Year C focus on the kingship of Jesus Christ, who is not a king like the rulers of this world. In the first reading (2 Samuel 5:1-3) David is anointed the king of Israel. The psalm (Psalm 122:1-2, 3-4, 4-5) sings of going to the house of the Lord. In the second reading (Colossians 1:12-20) Paul tells us that we are going to share in the inheritance of Jesus Christ. In the gospel (Luke 23:35-43) from the cross, Jesus tells the good thief that he will join him in paradise.
Think about the kingship of Jesus Christ who died for us and his kingdom, which lasts forever. Here are some ideas:
