Saint John of Kanty

He was canonized by Pope Clement XIII in 1767. This means the Church officially declared him a saint. His feast day is December 23. That is close to Christmas, which he loved.

Today, he is the patron saint of teachers, students, and schools. He is also a patron of Poland. Many churches and schools are named after him.

His body is buried in the Church of St. Anne in Kraków. Many people visit his tomb. They still ask for his prayers. They remember his kindness and his wisdom.
