Saint Dionysius of Corinth

Saint Dionysius of Corinth lived in the second century. Sometimes his name is written as Dionysios. Some old texts also call him Denys. He is known most simply as Dionysius of Corinth. He served as a bishop and leader of the Church in Corinth, a city in Greece.

He is remembered for his strong faith and clear teaching. He worked hard to guide his people during a difficult time for Christians. Many troubles faced the early Church, and Dionysius helped bring peace and unity.

Very little is known about his personal life. Most of what we know comes from letters he wrote. Other early Christian writers also mentioned him and praised his work.
