The readings for the Ascension of the Lord Year C encourage us to be witnesses for Jesus Christ, just as the early Christians were. Evangelism and the need to step out into the world could be topics for this weekend.

This activity is to show children how the Holy Spirit is like the wind. We can’t see the Holy Spirit directly, but we can see the work of the Spirit. You will need one or more kites and an outdoor location to fly them.

The feast of the Ascension of the Lord Year A commemorates the day that Jesus Christ ascended into heaven. He also gave the Great Commission, that all of the world should be saved. So this is a day to focus on our service to the Kingdom of God and evangelization. Here are some ideas for youth ministry, your home, and your Sunday School.
Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.
