Summary: As Jesus healed ten lepers, only one—a Samaritan—returned to thank him. Jesus praised his faith and asked why the others did not return to give thanks, reminding him that his faith had saved him.
As Jesus continued his journey to Jerusalem, he traveled through Samaria and Galilee. While entering a village, ten people with leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and called out, “Jesus, Master! Have pity on us!” When he saw them, he said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” As they went, they were healed.
One of them, realizing he was cured, returned, praising God loudly and fell at Jesus’ feet to thank him. He was a Samaritan. Jesus said, “Were not all ten healed? Where are the other nine? Has only this foreigner returned to thank God?” Then he told him, “Stand up and go; your faith has saved you.”
