Materials Needed
- Printed saint cards (choose either the set with names or the set without names)
- Scissors
- Cardstock or sturdy paper
- Table or floor space
Setup Instructions
- Print the saint card set of your choice.
- Use cardstock or glue the cards to thicker paper if needed.
- Cut the cards apart. You should have a saint picture card and a matching description card for each saint.
- Mix all the cards.
- Place them face down in rows on a flat surface. Leave space between cards for easy flipping.
How to Play
- Divide players into teams or take turns one by one.
- On each turn, a player flips over two cards.
- The goal is to match the saint’s picture with the correct description.
- If the cards match, the player removes the pair and reads the name and description out loud.
- If the cards do not match, turn them face down again.
- The next player takes a turn.
- Keep playing until all matches are found.
- When finished, ask a few questions like:
- Which saints do you remember?
- Which one was new to you?
- What surprised you?
Game Variations
- Use the easier set (with names on both cards) for younger children.
- Use the harder set (no names on the description cards) for older children or teens.
- Set a timer to keep the game moving quickly.
- Play as a relay with teams running to flip cards one at a time.
Safety Tips
- Make sure the play area is clear of obstacles.
- If playing on the floor, remind players not to run or slide.
- Use paper that is not too slippery to avoid falls.
