Equipment/Materials
- A list of 10-15 predetermined words for the game
- Large pads of paper (one per team)
- Black markers (one per team)
- Optional: A Pictionary set to use for words
Instructions for Setup
- Divide the group into teams of six to eight players.
- Ask each player to choose a role: actor, artist, or speaker. Ensure each team has at least one of each role.
- Place a large pad of paper and a marker with each team for the artists to use.
- Assign a leader to stand in the middle of the room with the word list. The teams should spread out on the sides of the room.
Instructions for Gameplay
- The first player from each team approaches the leader and receives a word from the list.
- The player returns to their team and communicates the word using their role:
- Actors perform Charades-style actions.
- Artists draw pictures, Pictionary-style, on the pad of paper.
- Speakers describe the word without using part of the word or acting it out.
- Once the team guesses the word, the next player in line goes to the leader for the next word.
- This continues until one team successfully guesses all the words on the list. That team wins.
Notes for Variations
- Theme Variation: Choose words that match a lesson or theme, such as Bible stories, saints, or virtues.
- Timed Rounds: Set a time limit for each word to make the game more challenging.
- Silent Communication: Restrict artists and speakers from using any sounds to add difficulty.
Safety Notes
- Ensure the playing area is clear of obstacles to prevent trips or falls during the game.
- Use non-toxic markers for drawing.
- Remind players to be respectful and patient with one another during the game.
