This Litany of the Beatitudes is a prayer which helps us remember the beatitudes. It also asks for our Lord's grace so we can live these values in our daily lives.
A litany is a prayer where there is a prompt and then a response. They are often prayed in a group setting. The prayer leader says the first part and the group responds with the second part.
Litany of the Beatitudes
Lord have mercy ... Lord have mercy
Christ have mercy ... Christ have mercy
Lord have mercy ... Lord have mercy
Blessed are the poor in spirit ... theirs is the kingdom of heaven
Blessed are the mourning ... they will be comforted
Blessed are the meek ... they will inherit the land
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness ... they will be satisfied
Blessed are the merciful ... they will receive mercy
Blessed are the clean in heart ... they will see God
Blessed are those who work for peace ... they will be called children of God
Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness ... theirs is the kingdom of heaven

Savior of the world ... hear our prayer
Comfort of the sorrowing ... hear our prayer
Refuge of the weak ... hear our prayer
Seeker of justice ... hear our prayer
Brother to the outcast ... hear our prayer
Merciful Lord ... hear our prayer
Light to sinners ... hear our prayer
Prince of peace ... hear our prayer
Redeemer of the world ... hear our prayer
