Make an Appreciation List

Activities, Food for Thought, Advent, 1st Sunday of Advent - Year B, 13th Sunday in Ordinary Time - Year B

Your kids might have made a list of some things they’d like to receive for Christmas. So for today’s advent activity, encourage them to make a list of all the things they already have which they are thankful for.

These could include tangible things like toys. It could include basic needs like a home and food on the table. And it could include other things like the people in their lives they appreciate or gratitude for something good which has happened to them lately.

Let everyone spend a little time making up a list. Then share them. Hearing what everyone else is grateful for might bring some more ideas to mind.

After sharing your lists, say a prayer of thankfulness for all of the good things in your lives and for the gift of salvation.
