Seeing the Big Picture Game
Sometimes in life we only see a small part of what is really happening. We might focus on our own thoughts, feelings, or plans and forget that God sees everything. This game helps youth think about how our own view can be limited. It reminds us that God’s view is much bigger than ours.
When we play this game, we see pictures that start very close up. At first, they don’t make much sense. But when we zoom out, the full image becomes clear. This helps us think about how faith can work the same way. Sometimes we don’t understand what God is doing, but later things make sense when we see the bigger picture.
The game also connects to how the Church helps us understand God’s truth. The magisterium, guided by the Holy Spirit, helps us see the full picture of faith. It can be confusing at times, but like the pictures in the game, things become clearer when we trust and look deeper.
This activity is fun and easy to do, but it also has a deep message. It teaches patience, faith, and openness. It helps youth see that understanding God’s will and Church teaching takes time. It encourages them to listen, learn, and look beyond their own view to see what God might be showing them.
Seeing Like God Sees
This game can help youth think about how God sees the world in a way that we cannot. In the Bible, many people only saw a small part of God’s plan. Joseph did not understand why his brothers sold him, but later he saw how God used it for good. The disciples were sad when Jesus died, but later they saw the joy of the Resurrection. This game helps youth think about how things can look confusing at first, but God always has a bigger plan.
It also connects with the story of the blind man healed by Jesus. At first, he could not see anything. Then he began to see clearly after Jesus touched him. The game helps us remember that faith grows like that too. We start by seeing a little and then slowly begin to see more clearly as we trust in God.
The game fits well in youth ministry because it makes this idea easy to understand. It takes a simple activity and turns it into a lesson about faith and vision. It helps youth see that even when life feels confusing or unfair, God can see what we cannot. It invites them to look with faith and not just with their eyes.
