About St. Maximilian Kolbe
Feast Day: August 14
St. Maximilian Kolbe was a Polish Franciscan friar. He was imprisoned at the Nazi death camp at Auschwitz. When a prisoner escaped from the camp, the commandant ordered that ten men be starved to death as punishment. When one of the selected men cried out for his family, St. Maximilian offered to die in his place. While being starved, he prayed with the other victims.
St. Maximilian Kolbe is the patron saint of families, journalists, prisoners, and the pro-life movement. Do something pro-life on his feast day.
