Saint Adrian of Caesarea

Saint Adrian, also known as Adrian of Caesarea, lived in the early fourth century. Some call him Adrian of Palestine. He is remembered as a soldier who became a Christian martyr. His feast day is March 5.

Adrian lived during a time when Christians were being killed for their faith. Many people were afraid to say they believed in Jesus. But Adrian stayed strong.

He was a Roman soldier. This was a powerful job at the time. Many soldiers followed the emperor’s orders without question. Adrian chose to follow Christ instead.

Adrian refused to deny Jesus Christ. Even when they threatened him, he stayed strong. His faith was more important to him than his life.

They tortured him badly. It is said that he was beaten and burned. Through all of this, Adrian did not give up his faith.

At the end, Adrian was killed for being a Christian. His death made him a martyr, someone who gives their life for Jesus. His courage gave strength to other Christians who were also suffering.

Many Christians were inspired by Adrian’s courage. Even while he was suffering, he encouraged others to stay true to Jesus.
