Exploring the Lives of Saints Cornelius and Cyprian

Cornelius and Cyprian were early Christian bishops known for their lenient stance on readmitting Christians who had left the faith due to Roman persecution. The two were close allies, particularly during a schism led by Novatian, who argued for a strict, no-readmission policy for lapsed Christians. Cornelius and Cyprian's more compassionate view prevailed, helped by Cyprian's councils that backed Cornelius.
