Saint Philogonius of Antioch
Saint Philogonius of Antioch was a lawyer before becoming bishop. He led the Church in a time of trouble and confusion, just before the Council of Nicaea. He spoke out against the Arian heresy and helped the people of Antioch stay faithful. Though he had no background in Church leadership, he became a trusted voice. Saints like John Chrysostom praised him for his courage and peace. He did not write books or seek attention, but his strong faith and clear teaching made a lasting mark. Saint Philip Neri, Priest
St. Philip Neri lived in Italy in the sixteenth century. He trained with his uncle to be a merchant, but felt himself called to serve the poor of Rome instead. There he ministered to the sick and to prostitutes. After 17 years of ministry, he decided to enter the priesthood. Eventually he founded an order of priests known as the Oratory.
