Equipment / Materials Needed:
- A treasure item (something about the size of a shoe works well).
Setup Instructions:
- Choose a player to be “It.”
- “It” stands with their back to a wall, placing the treasure at their feet.
- Other players form a semi-circle around “It.”
- The game starts when “It” says “Go!”
- Players in the semi-circle try to grab the treasure without getting their hands touched by “It.”
- If “It” touches a player’s first hand, that hand must stay frozen in place, but the player can still try to grab the treasure with their other hand.
- If “It” touches the player’s second hand, that player becomes a guard and helps “It” guard the treasure.
- The game continues until a player successfully grabs the treasure and returns to the semi-circle.
- The player who grabs the treasure becomes “It” for the next round.
Additional Notes and Variations:
- For larger groups, split into multiple teams with separate games running at the same time.
- To make the game safer, ensure that the play area is clear of obstacles and the floor is not slippery.
- You can use different items as the treasure to keep the game interesting.
- For younger players, consider using a softer object for the treasure to avoid injuries.
