Equipment / Materials List

  • Everyday Items
    • Box of pasta (or picture)
    • House (picture or small model)
    • Can of food (or picture)
    • Car (picture or toy model)
    • Item of clothing (or picture)
    • Cell phone (old model or picture)
    • Additional everyday items (pictures or actual items)
  • Papers with words for concepts
    • Your family
    • Your best friend
    • Clean air and water
    • A homeless person
    • Jesus
  • Small prizes (e.g., candy)

Setup Instructions

  1. Gather all items and pictures listed in the materials.
  2. Write the words for the abstract concepts on separate pieces of paper.
  3. Arrange a space where items or pictures can be displayed.
  4. Keep all items and pictures out of sight from the players until it’s their turn.
  5. Have a small prize ready for correct answers.

Game Play Instructions

  1. Select a Contestant: Invite one person to “come on down” like in a game show.
  2. Present the Items: Show the contestant four items from the first list (everyday items).
  3. Order the Items: Ask the contestant to arrange the items from lowest price to highest price. The audience can offer suggestions.
  4. Check and Reward: If the order is correct, give the contestant a small prize.
  5. Next Contestant: Repeat the process with a new contestant, using three everyday items and one concept from the second list.
  6. Final Round: For the last contestant, use one everyday item and three concepts from the second list.

Notes

  • Variations:
    • Change the items or concepts based on the group’s interests.
    • Use different themes, like “things you can do” or “qualities in a friend.”
    • Play additional rounds as time permits
  • Safety:
