This version has multiple teams playing at once to keep everyone engaged, but you can also play with only one team guessing. In that case, put a time limit on how long they have to guess the word or phrase.
Equipment / Materials Needed:
- Portable whiteboards or flip charts
- Dry erase markers for whiteboards
- Thick markers for flip charts
- Slips of paper with words or phrases
- Timer (optional for timing guesses)
Setup Instructions:
- Divide the group into teams of 4 to 6 teens.
- Assign a corner of the room to each team and place a whiteboard or flip chart there.
- Give each team a set of markers.
- Have each team select one person to be the “artist” for the first round.
Game Play Instructions:
- Gather all the artists in the middle of the room.
- The leader shows the artists the word or phrase from a slip of paper.
- Artists go back to their teams and start drawing the word or phrase on the whiteboard or flip chart. They cannot speak or write words.
- Teams guess what the artist is drawing. The artist confirms correct guesses by telling the team to sit down.
- The first team to guess correctly wins the round.
- For the next round, select a new artist from each team and repeat the process.
Additional Notes:
- Variations: For smaller groups, you can play with just one team guessing at a time and use a timer to limit the guessing time. Mix and match words from different themes to keep the game interesting.
- Safety: Ensure all markers are non-toxic and suitable for use by children. Keep the play area clear of obstacles to prevent accidents.
This setup ensures that everyone gets a chance to participate both as an artist and a guesser, making the game inclusive and engaging for all players.
