Materials Needed
- None
Setup Instructions
- Have everyone sit or stand in a circle.
- Choose one person to go first.
Game Play Instructions
- The first person says one word to start a sentence. For example, “The” or “A.”
- The next person adds another word to the sentence.
- Continue around the circle, with each person adding one word.
- The sentence must make sense grammatically, but the meaning can be silly or strange.
- Once the sentence feels complete, the group can agree to stop.
- Start a new sentence with the next person in the circle.
Notes and Variations
- To make the game more challenging, set a theme for the sentences. For example: animals, food, or something from a Bible story.
- If playing with younger kids, you can remind them to listen carefully before adding their word.
- For extra fun, have someone write down the sentences or say them dramatically at the end.
- Make sure everyone gets a turn and feels included. Keep the focus on having fun, not on making a “perfect” sentence.
