Materials Needed
- None
Setup Instructions
- Divide the group into two teams. Five or six players per team is a good size. If you have a large group, you can run several games at the same time.
- Choose one team to line up across the front of the room. This is the “lined-up team.”
- The other team will be the “observing team.” They will stand where they can clearly see the lined-up team.
Game Play Instructions
- Give the observing team one minute to look at the lined-up team. They should carefully notice details about their appearance.
- The observing team leaves the room.
- While they are out of the room, the lined-up team changes ten things about their appearance. These changes must be noticeable without close inspection. Examples include switching shoes, removing a jacket, swapping hats, or rolling up sleeves.
- Bring the observing team back into the room. Give them two minutes to find and list the differences they see.
- The observing team earns one point for each correct difference they spot.
- Switch roles so the observing team becomes the lined-up team and the lined-up team becomes the observing team.
- After both teams have played, the team with the most points wins.
Game Variations
- Make It Harder: Allow fewer changes (such as five) but make them less obvious.
- Make It Easier: Allow more changes (such as fifteen) so differences are easier to spot.
- Quick Round: Set a shorter time limit, like 30 seconds for observing and one minute for guessing.
Safety Notes
- Remind players not to move too quickly when changing clothing items to avoid tripping or bumping into each other.
- Encourage players to make changes that are simple and safe, like adjusting sleeves or swapping hats.
