About this St. Michael Prayer

St. Michael the Archangel is a warrior who fights evil. He is a protector.  Children can understand St. Michael as a spiritual superhero whose nemesis is Satan.  He is often depicted dressed in armor, but maybe a cape would be more representative of St. Michael’s role to today’s youth.

This prayer is appropriate in times of temptation or whenever we are struggling. Youth of all ages can understand the struggle between good and evil and how it impacts our lives.

St. Michael the Archangel Prayer

St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Fr. Robert Spitzer explains how to recognize evil forces in our lives and overcome them. Through Jesus Christ we can be transformed and fight evil instead of being controlled by it. In the battle of Jesus vs Satan, Jesus will always win if we just let him.
