Walk Like a Saint Activity Stations

All Saints Day reminds us that saints are people who loved God and followed Jesus. They came from different places, lived at different times, and served God in many ways. What they shared was a willingness to put their faith into action. In this movement-based activity, children visit eight stations and practice simple actions inspired by familiar saints.

• Eight station cards
• Pictures of the featured saints, if available
• Tape
• A bell, timer, or music
• Enough open space for children to move safely
• Optional drawing paper and crayons

Write or print one saintly action on each station card. Add the saint’s name, picture, and short description. Place the cards around the room with enough room for a small group to gather at each one.

Divide the children into pairs or small groups. Assign each group a starting station. Plan to give the children about one or two minutes at each station.

Gather the children and ask, “What is a saint?”

Explain that saints are people who are with God in heaven. During their lives, they trusted God and tried to follow Jesus. Saints were not superheroes with imaginary powers. They were real people who allowed God to help them love, forgive, pray, share, and serve.

Tell the children that they will “walk like saints” by moving around the room and practicing eight saintly actions.

1. Help with St. Teresa of Calcutta

St. Teresa of Calcutta helped people who were poor, sick, or lonely. She believed that even a small act done with love could make a difference.

Action: Pretend to help someone carry something heavy. Then tell a partner one way you can help at home or school.

Say together: “St. Teresa of Calcutta, help us serve with love.”

2. Pray with St. Thérèse of Lisieux

St. Thérèse loved Jesus and followed her “Little Way.” She offered ordinary actions to God with great love.

Action: Fold your hands and quietly pray for someone who needs God’s help.

Say together: “St. Thérèse, help us do little things with great love.”

3. Share with St. Nicholas

St. Nicholas was known for quietly giving gifts to people in need. He shared without seeking attention or praise.

Action: Pretend to share a toy, book, or snack with another person. Practice saying, “Would you like to share this with me?”

Say together: “St. Nicholas, help us become generous.”

4. Forgive with St. John Paul II

St. John Paul II showed forgiveness to someone who had seriously hurt him. He followed Jesus’ teaching to forgive others.

Action: Practice saying, “I forgive you. Let’s begin again.” Children may also silently ask God to help them forgive someone.

Say together: “St. John Paul II, help us choose forgiveness.”

5. Welcome with St. Martin de Porres

St. Martin de Porres treated people with kindness and dignity. He cared for people who were often ignored or left out.

Action: Pretend a new child has entered the room. Smile, introduce yourself, and invite the child to join an activity.

Say together: “St. Martin de Porres, help us welcome everyone.”

6. Encourage with Mary, Queen of All Saints

Mary brought joy to her cousin Elizabeth. She also stayed with Jesus’ disciples and helped them remain faithful.

Action: Look at a partner and offer an encouraging sentence, such as “You can do it,” “God loves you,” or “I am glad you are here.”

Say together: “Mary, Queen of All Saints, help us bring joy to others.”

7. Care with St. Francis of Assisi

St. Francis recognized God’s goodness in people and in creation. He reminds us to care for our neighbors, animals, and the world God made.

Action: Pretend to care for a person, an animal, or a plant. Then name one way you can care for God’s creation.

Say together: “St. Francis of Assisi, help us care for God’s creation.”

8. Thank God with St. Kateri Tekakwitha

St. Kateri loved God and found joy in prayer and the beauty of creation. Her life reminds us to notice God’s gifts.

Action: Look around, think of one of God’s gifts, and say, “Thank you, God, for _____.”

Say together: “St. Kateri Tekakwitha, help us live with thankful hearts.”

Send each group to its starting station. Read the saint’s description aloud or invite a child to read it. Have everyone complete the action and say the short prayer together.

Ring a bell, play a brief sound, or stop the music when it is time to rotate. Continue until each group has visited all eight stations. Encourage children to move calmly and respectfully between stations.

After the rotations, gather the children and ask:

• Which saintly action did you enjoy most?
• Which action might be difficult?
• Which saint would you like to imitate?
• When can you practice one of these actions?
• How do these choices help us follow Jesus?

Emphasize that children do not have to travel far away or accomplish something famous to live like the saints. They can follow Jesus through small, faithful choices made at home, at school, in their parish, and with their friends.

Give each child a piece of paper and ask them to draw themselves practicing one saintly action. Add the sentence:

This week, I will walk like a saint by __________.

Display the pictures under the heading “We Can Walk Like the Saints!” or send them home as a family faith challenge.

Invite the children to stand together.

“Jesus, thank you for all the saints who show us how to love you. Help us pray, share, forgive, welcome, encourage, care, help, and give thanks. May our choices bring your love to others. All you holy men and women, pray for us. Amen.”
