The readings for the Feast of Christ the King for Year B speak of heavenly battles and being prepared. In the first reading (Daniel 7:13-14) Daniel foretells the Son of Man coming to rule the world with an unending kingship. The psalm (Psalm 93:1, 1-2, 5) sings “The Lord is king; he is robed in majesty.” In the second reading (Revelation 1:5-8) describes our king coming in glory. And in the gospel (John 18:33B-37), Pilate questions Jesus about his kingdom and Jesus reveals that it is not like a worldly kingdom.
So this weekend we could speak of the kingship of Christ or the book of Revelation. Here are some ideas:
