February 2028
Mass Readings and Free Resources
The readings for February 2028 focus on how God works in our lives and how we respond. God chooses ordinary people and gives them what they need. We are asked to depend on Him, not on things that fade. We see that mercy matters more than payback, and that we are called to treat others with kindness. Jesus teaches us to look at our own faults first and to let our hearts change. Our words and actions should reflect what is good inside us.
February 2028 is Year C in the Sunday liturgical cycle and Year 2 in the weekday cycle.

Sundays and Holy Days in February 2028
5th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Sunday February 6, 2028
The readings show that God calls ordinary people. Isaiah feels unworthy, but God cleanses him. Paul knows his past was not perfect, yet he is sent to preach. Peter is a fisherman, but Jesus calls him to follow. God does not wait for perfect people. He helps those He calls and gives them what they need.
These readings remind us to trust God and say yes. We may feel small or unsure, but God still calls us. He gives us strength and grace to serve. Like Isaiah, Paul, and Peter, we are invited to follow Jesus and share our faith with others.
6th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Sunday February 13, 2028
On the 6th Sunday in Ordinary Time, the readings point to a simple choice. Jeremiah gives a clear image. A dry bush in the desert cannot grow. A tree near water stays green and strong. A life built on passing things will not last. A life rooted in God will hold firm.
Yet Jesus speaks in a surprising way. He blesses those who are poor and hungry now. He warns those who feel comfortable and satisfied. Paul speaks of Christ risen, which gives meaning to all we believe. Because He lives, we can look ahead with hope and choose a better path.
7th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Sunday February 20, 2028
In these readings, mercy takes center stage. David finds Saul asleep and chooses not to strike him. He even takes the spear and leaves in peace. This simple act says a lot. It points to a different way of living, one that turns away from payback.
Still, Jesus asks for even more. He speaks of loving enemies and praying for those who hurt us. This is not easy. Yet it opens the door to real freedom. Paul adds that we are meant for something greater, shaped by Christ. When we give, forgive, and hold back from judging, we begin to live that new life.
8th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Sunday February 28, 2028
On the 8th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Jesus points to something simple. A good tree gives good fruit. A bad tree does not. Our words work the same way. What comes out of our mouth reveals what is inside. Sirach says speech puts the heart on display, like fire testing metal.
But there is also a warning. It is easy to notice a speck in someone else’s eye while missing a beam in our own. Jesus tells us to look at ourselves first. Paul speaks of victory through Christ, giving us strength to keep going. When our hearts are shaped by Him, our words and actions begin to change.
