November 2031
Mass Readings and Free Resources
November 2031 brings a mix of hope, memory, and watchfulness. We think about the saints and those who have died, and we pray for them. We are reminded that life continues beyond death and that God cares for all people. The readings speak about staying ready, living with care, and doing what is right each day. There is also a focus on Jesus as our king and leader. As the Church year moves forward, we are invited to look ahead with hope and prepare our hearts for what is coming.
November 2031 is Year C in the Sunday liturgical cycle and Year 1 in the weekday cycle.
Year A begins on November 30. See Mass readings resources for specific Sundays and feast days in November 2031 here.
Sundays and Holy Days in November 2031
All Saints Day
Saturday, November 1, 2031
This feast looks at a great crowd in white robes before God. An angel marks God’s servants. The psalm speaks of clean hands and hearts. John says we are God’s children. Jesus lists the blessed, like the meek and the peacemakers. The Beatitudes give clear pictures. They show who is close to God.
In All Saints Day, we think about real people who lived this way. Some were known. Many were not. Their lives give us simple patterns to copy. Small choices matter. Kindness, patience, and mercy count. We can take one step at a time and grow in the same direction.
Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed (All Souls Day)
Sunday November 2, 2031
Standing at a grave can feel quiet and still. We think of those we miss and wonder about their journey. There is sadness, but also hope. We pray because love does not end. Even when we cannot see them, we believe God holds them close and cares for them.
The readings speak of souls safe with God and tested like gold, and one line stretches our hope forward: through baptism we share in Christ’s death and rising, so death no longer has power over us. Jesus promises to raise up those who come to him. Psalm 23 gives the image of a shepherd leading us home.
The Dedication of the Lateran Basilica
Sunday November 9, 2031
Some people think a church is only a building, but others see it as a sign of something deeper. The readings hold both ideas together. Water flows from the temple and brings life. Paul says we are God’s building. Jesus clears the temple, guarding what is sacred.
This feast, The Dedication of the Lateran Basilica, points to how spaces and people both matter. Churches gather us. Our lives also reflect God’s presence. Care for both is needed. Respect the place of worship, and live in a way that matches it.
33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time
Sunday November 16, 2031
What do we do when everything feels uncertain? The readings speak of fire, struggle, and change. Yet there is also a rising sun that brings healing. Jesus warns of hard times but promises help when we need words.
The 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time Year C leaves us with a steady message. Stay firm. Keep going. Even when life feels shaken, God does not forget. Endurance matters more than comfort.
Solemnity of Christ the King
Sunday November 23, 2031
This feast shows a king who suffers on a cross. People mock him. One man beside him asks to be remembered. Jesus answers with a promise of paradise. The readings speak of a kingdom that lasts and a ruler who cares for his people. Each scene is clear. Each moment points to a different kind of power.
In the Solemnity of Christ the King Year C, we see leadership shaped by mercy. This can guide daily life. Choose patience over anger. Offer help without seeking reward. These simple acts reflect the kind of kingdom Jesus leads.
1st Sunday of Advent
Sunday November 30, 2031
Looking ahead can change how we live today. Advent begins with a sense of waiting and watching. People walk toward God’s mountain. Paul urges us to wake up. Jesus speaks of sudden moments, like in the days of Noah, when life seemed normal but changed quickly.
The 1st Sunday of Advent Year A invites a fresh start. It is a time to notice habits and adjust them. Set aside what distracts. Make room for prayer and quiet. Even small changes can prepare the way for Christ’s coming.
