Mass Readings and Free Resources
The readings for July remind us to stay close to God and live with faith. They teach us to trust His care, welcome others with kindness, and listen to His Word. Jesus shows us what the Kingdom of God is like and calls us to grow in love and goodness. We learn that following God brings peace and purpose, even when life is hard. Each week helps us see how God’s wisdom and love guide our choices and help us live with hope.
July 2023 is Year A in the Sunday liturgical cycle and Year 1 in the weekday cycle.

Sundays and Holy Days in July 2023
13th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Sunday July 2, 2023
The readings remind us that following Jesus means putting Him first in our lives. Faith is not only about what we believe but also how we live each day. We are called to trust God’s promises, welcome others with kindness, and show love through our actions.
Jesus teaches that being His disciple requires courage and sacrifice. We must love Him above everything else and serve others, even in small ways. A simple act, like offering a cup of water, becomes a sign of faith. God blesses those who live with open hearts and share His love with others.
14th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Sunday July 9, 2023
The readings remind us that God’s love is gentle and full of mercy. Jesus comes not as a powerful ruler but as a humble king who brings peace. He lifts up those who are weak and tired and offers rest to all who trust in Him. God’s care is quiet and kind, showing us that true strength is found in love and humility.
We are called to follow the Spirit and live in God’s peace. Faith is not about power or pride but about trusting in Jesus’ way. When we come to Him with our worries, He gives us comfort and hope. His yoke is easy, and His path leads to rest for our souls.

15th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Sunday July 16, 2023
The readings teach that God’s word is full of life and always brings good results. Like rain that makes the earth grow, His word nourishes our hearts and helps faith take root. Jesus’ parable of the sower shows that we must listen carefully and be open to what God is saying. When our hearts are ready, His word grows strong and bears fruit in our lives.
We also learn that creation waits with us for God’s promise to be fulfilled. Even when life is hard, we can trust that God is working. His plan is sure, and His blessings are generous. When we welcome His word, we find hope and strength to grow in faith each day.
16th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Sunday July 23, 2023
The readings remind us that God is patient and full of mercy. He is strong but gentle, giving people time to grow and change. His justice is always joined with kindness. Even when we do not know how to pray, the Spirit helps us. God listens and understands what is in our hearts.
Jesus’ parables teach that the kingdom of God starts small but grows quietly. Like seeds and yeast, His work spreads in ways we cannot always see. The wheat and weeds remind us to trust God’s timing and not lose hope. God’s plan takes time, but it will bring good fruit. We are called to wait with faith and live with patience.
17th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Sunday July 30, 2023
The readings remind us that God’s wisdom and His kingdom are the greatest treasures we can find. Solomon shows us that true riches come from understanding and good judgment, not from power or wealth. God is pleased when we ask for what helps others and brings peace. His wisdom leads us to live with love and purpose.
Jesus teaches that the kingdom of heaven is worth giving everything for. Like a hidden treasure or a rare pearl, it is precious and lasting. God’s plan for us is good, and He works in all things for our good. When we seek His wisdom and follow His way, we find joy that never fades.
