April 2027
Mass Readings and Free Resources
April 2027 focuses on the risen Jesus and the new life He brings. We see Him calm fear, offer peace, and forgive sins. We are reminded that faith grows in community, where people share and care for one another. Jesus is our shepherd who knows us and stays with us. He is also the vine who gives us strength to live with love and action. This month calls us to trust Him, stay close to Him, and show our faith by the way we live each day.
April 2027 is Year B in the Sunday liturgical cycle and Year 1 in the weekday cycle.

Sundays and Holy Days in April 2027
Divine Mercy Sunday
Sunday April 4, 2027
Divine Mercy Sunday Year B reminds us that Jesus meets us in our fear and doubt. He comes to the disciples behind locked doors and speaks peace. He shows His wounds and gives them the Holy Spirit. He gives them the mission to forgive. Thomas struggles to believe, but Jesus is patient with him. We are blessed when we trust, even when we cannot see.
The readings also show the strength of Christian community. The early believers share what they have so no one is in need. Their faith shapes the way they live. We are called to forgive, to trust, and to care for one another. Mercy is meant to be lived each day.
3rd Sunday of Easter
Sunday April 11, 2027
The 3rd Sunday of Easter Year B shows the risen Jesus standing among His friends. They are scared and unsure. He tells them to look at His hands and feet. He eats with them. He helps them see that He is truly alive. He opens their minds to the Scriptures. Slowly, fear gives way to calm. They begin to understand what God has done.
Peter calls the people to turn back to God. He speaks of forgiveness and new life. The letter of John reminds us that Jesus speaks for us when we fail. We are not left alone. We are sent to tell others what we have seen and heard. We live as witnesses of hope and mercy.
4th Sunday of Easter (Good Shepherd Sunday)
Sunday April 18, 2027
The 4th Sunday of Easter Year B calls us to look at Jesus as our shepherd. He does not leave when danger comes. He stays and gives His life for His sheep. He says He knows us, and we know His voice. This tells us we are not lost or forgotten. We belong to Him. He leads with care and courage.
The readings also remind us that life and hope come through Jesus alone. Peter speaks with bold trust. John tells us we are God’s children now. We may not see the full picture yet, but we are loved. Jesus gathers many sheep into one flock. We walk together, guided by one shepherd.
5th Sunday of Easter
Sunday April 25, 2027
The 5th Sunday of Easter Year B shows that life with Jesus must stay active and real. He says He is the vine and we are the branches. A branch cannot live on its own. It must stay joined to the vine. In the same way, we need Jesus each day. When we stay close to Him, our lives begin to show love, patience, and care.
Saul’s story shows that people can change. With help from Barnabas, he finds a place in the Church. The community grows in peace and trust. John reminds us that love must be shown by what we do. Faith is seen in action. When we stay with Christ, good fruit follows.
