April 2034

Mass Readings and Free Resources

April 2034 moves from praise and welcome to sorrow, hope, and new life. It begins with Jesus entering Jerusalem as a humble king and leads into the saving events of Holy Week. We see love through service on Holy Thursday, love through sacrifice on Good Friday, and love stronger than death on Easter Sunday. The weeks that follow keep building on that joy. They speak of mercy, peace, forgiveness, new purpose, and the care of Jesus as the Good Shepherd. Across the whole month, the message is clear: Jesus stays close to His people, brings peace to fearful hearts, and leads them into new life.

April 2034 is Year C in the Sunday liturgical cycle and Year 2 in the weekday cycle.

Sundays and Holy Days in April 2034

Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion

Sunday April 2, 2034

Jesus enters Jerusalem on a donkey. People spread cloaks on the road. They wave palms and shout praise. The scene is loud and hopeful. Soon the mood changes. The long reading tells of arrest, trial, and the cross. Isaiah speaks of one who suffers without turning back. Philippians speaks of Jesus lowering himself and obeying to the end.

Later, this day asks for a choice. It is easy to cheer when things feel good. It is harder to stay close when life turns dark. Palm Sunday Year C invites steady love. Walk with Jesus through both joy and pain. Choose kindness in small ways. Stay near him in prayer, even when it feels quiet.

Holy Thursday

Thursday April 6, 2034

We gather and think about service. We picture a table, a meal, and tired feet. Jesus kneels and washes them, and Peter first pulls back but then accepts, and the moment stays with us because it turns ideas about greatness upside down in a very simple act.

Holy Thursday also includes the Passover meal from Exodus and the words over bread and cup in Corinthians. The Gospel gives the washing of feet as a clear lesson. The Church remembers the start of the Triduum. Bread, cup, water, and towel all point to love lived out in action.

Good Friday of the Lord’s Passion

Friday April 7, 2034

Some people see only loss in suffering, but others see love that keeps going even when it costs everything. This day holds both views side by side. The readings speak of a servant who bears pain, a prayer that cries out, and a priest who understands weakness. Together they point to a love that does not step away.

In daily life, this can look like staying patient with someone who is hard to love, or choosing honesty when it brings trouble. Good Friday keeps attention on quiet strength. It asks for steady care, even when there is no reward. The cross stands as a sign of love that endures.

Easter Sunday – The Resurrection of the Lord

Sunday April 9, 2034

What does it mean that the tomb is empty? The message brings surprise and hope at once. The readings speak of life breaking through death and of a promise that does not end. Voices tell the news and send others to share it. Fear gives way to joy.

Easter Sunday speaks of new life. It invites a fresh start.

2nd Sunday of Easter (Sunday of Divine Mercy)

Sunday April 16, 2034

A locked room comes to mind. Doors shut. Fear hangs in the air. Then Jesus stands among them and says, “Peace.” He shows his wounds. Thomas later reaches out and believes. The readings also speak of signs and healing among the people, and a vision of Christ alive and near.

This Sunday points to mercy in daily life. Offer forgiveness when it is not easy. Speak gentle words when tension rises. Divine Mercy Sunday Year C asks for open hands. Receive mercy. Give it away. Let peace guide choices at home, at work, and in simple conversations.

3rd Sunday of Easter

Sunday April 23, 2034

We think about ordinary moments that carry meaning. A shoreline. Nets in the water. A meal cooked over a small fire. The scene feels simple, yet it changes everything, because in that quiet setting Jesus meets his friends again and restores Peter with a clear task.

The readings also speak of courage and praise. The apostles accept hardship and still rejoice. A vision shows all creation giving honor to the Lamb. The 3rd Sunday of Easter Year C links love with care for others. It ties belief to daily work and steady service.

4th Sunday of Easter (Good Shepherd Sunday)

Sunday April 30, 2034

Some people look for security in plans and control, but others find it in a voice they learn to recognize and stay with over time. This contrast shapes the day. The readings speak of a shepherd who knows each one, of a crowd from every nation, and of a message carried to new places despite resistance.

In daily terms, this can mean listening before acting, choosing steady paths over quick gains, and staying with what is good when pressure builds. The 4th Sunday of Easter Year C keeps attention on guidance and care. It points to a life shaped by listening and steady steps.
