James warns that jealousy and selfish goals lead to trouble. God’s way brings peace and kindness. In the Gospel, Jesus tells His followers to stop seeking status. He teaches them to welcome the least and care for others. True greatness is found in simple acts of service.
26th Sunday in Ordinary Time

The readings for the 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year B show that God can work through anyone. In the first reading, two men speak God’s message even though they were not with the others. Moses welcomes this. In the Gospel, Jesus tells His followers not to stop someone doing good in His name. Good work matters, no matter who does it.
The readings also warn us to live the right way. James speaks against those who keep wealth and treat others badly. Jesus warns about leading others into sin. Our choices affect people around us. We are called to act with care, share what we have, and support what is good.
