Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God

Saturday January 1, 2028

The Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God reminds us that Mary said yes to God and became the mother of Jesus. Through her, God came into the world. This shows God’s care for His people. The readings speak of blessing, peace, and new life. Jesus makes us children of God. Mary’s role helps us see how close God wants to be to us.

Mary shows us how to trust and follow God each day. She listened, believed, and stayed faithful. In the Gospel, she quietly reflects on all that happened. We are invited to do the same. At the start of a new year, we can ask for her help. She leads us to Jesus and teaches us to walk in faith and peace.

Epiphany of Our Lord

Sunday January 2, 2028

The Epiphany of Our Lord shows Jesus as a light for all people. The magi followed a star and found Him. They came from far away, yet they were welcomed. This reminds us that no one is left out. God calls people from every place. The readings speak of light, joy, and people coming together to worship the King.

The magi listened and acted. They brought gifts and bowed before Jesus. Their journey shows trust and courage. Herod chose fear, but they chose faith. We are asked to look for Jesus and follow where He leads. Like the magi, we can bring what we have and offer it to Him.

Baptism of the Lord

The Baptism of the Lord Year C depicts Jesus stepping into His work. As He is baptized, the Spirit comes down and a voice calls Him God’s Son. This moment makes clear who He is. It also shows that God is close and active. Jesus stands with people, not apart from them, sharing in their lives from the start.

This feast points to our own baptism. We are made new and called into God’s family. The Spirit helps us live with faith and care for others. Jesus shows us how to follow with trust and humility. We are sent out to bring hope, peace, and kindness to those around us.

2nd Sunday in Ordinary Time

The 2nd Sunday in Ordinary Time Year C speaks about joy in daily life. At the wedding in Cana, Jesus helps in a quiet way. He takes a simple problem and makes it better. Mary trusts Him and tells the servants to follow His words. This invites us to trust Jesus and turn to Him in every need.

3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time
